Pilot

I am currently attending SFCC/UND flight school in Spokane, WA. I earned
my Private Pilot License at the end of my senior year of High School, along
with 63 College credits through the “Running Start” program. This allowed
me to attend College while still in High school. The really cool thing about
that was the school district paid for my tuition, so I got two years of free
College. I am on the SFCC cross-country team and my goal is to compete
in the heptathlon in the spring quarter. I will also begin working on my
instrument rating this spring.

I’ve had the ‘flying bug’ since my sophomore year of High School. During
that time I researched all my options as to how to become a pilot. Now
that I am a pilot, I continue to research all my options to make this my
future career. It is very expensive to fly and so it is very important to
check out all the funding options available to you as well as network with
others. Getting good grades will also make you more eligible for
scholarships. I also work as a cashier to help pay for flying lessons. It’s a
lot of hard work to make flying a reality and not just a dream, but it’s
extremely rewarding.
