Military Aviator
My name is Christa Stowe, I am 21 years old, and I am a Midshipman at the
United States Naval Academy. I will graduate in May 2007 and I will become
an Ensign in the United States Navy. I will be a Naval Flight Officer. When I
graduate I will go to Pensacola, Florida to start training for my job. This job
will take me all over the world and I promise to update as I go!
I am still very young and my career is just starting but I have been preparing
for a long time. I’ve wanted to fly for as long as I can remember. I grew up in
Ormond Beach, FL and went to Spruce Creek High School. Like I said, I go to
the United States Naval Academy now. I am majoring in English and minoring
in French. The Naval Academy is a 4-year college but, unlike other schools, I
wear a uniform to class every day. The schedule is demanding and we have a
lot of extra jobs besides just going to class. Over the four years I’ve spent
here I’ve been challenged in a lot of different ways but it has been an
AMAZING experience.
Personally, I’m just a girl like anybody else. I play rugby for the Naval
Academy. I also sing in the Gospel Choir and help out with the Campus Girl
Scouts when I have time. I like to read, run, listen to music, sing, hang out
with my friends, and cook when I have free time.
If you want to do anything related to aviation I say GO FOR IT! Even though
I’m just getting started I really feel like I’m living out my dreams. I would love
to hear from any of you who are interested. It was only a few short years
ago that I was in your shoes. Best of luck in all that you do!
Blue skies,
Christa
