Description: An interactive and inspirational event for girls. Join a
professional pilot to hear about her training and career, and then learn
"everything" you need to know about flying a plane with hands on
instruction. We will end with a question and answer session.

NASA@50: Exploring for Answers, Powering Our Future
Make Plans to Join NASA Glenn's Celebration!
NASA will celebrate its 50th Anniversary starting October 1, 2007 and
running throughout 2008. Our theme is "NASA @ 50: Exploring for
Answers, Powering Our Future." The Glenn Research Center is planning to
celebrate with a variety of events.

The Cleveland community will throw a black-tie party to celebrate NASA's
50th Anniversary at a downtown hotel. Tickets will be available for

Nikki Kukwa Memorial Aviation Camp
This summer the International Womens Air & Space Museum (IWASM) is
partnering with Kent State University to sponsor a unique camp
opportunity for high school young women. The Nikki Kukwa Memorial
Aviation Camp will convene July 20-22, 2008 at Kent State University in
Kent, OH. Named for a promising female aviation student at Kent State
who passed away in 2006, the IWASM/KSU Nikki Kukwa Memorial Aviation
Camp (NKMA) is the ultimate mother-daughter career exploration
experience for girls interested in aviation related fields. APPLICATION

WEDNESDAY, APRIL 30, 2008.
Engineering Exploration Camp
This summer the International Womens Air & Space Museum (IWASM) is
partnering with Ohio University to sponsor a unique camp opportunity for
high school young women. The IWASM/OU Engineering Exploration Camp
will convene July 7-9 at Ohio University in Athens, OH. Hosted by the Russ
College of Engineering this experience will introduce participants to
chemical, civil and mechanical engineering (haptics/robotics), and
automatic identification technology. Tours of the OU airport facilities and
an industrial complex are planned. Roundtrip bus transportation to Ohio
University from Cleveland, OH will be provided. Participants will be housed
in a residence hall on the campus under the supervision of
university-trained chaperones and escorts. There is no cost for
participation in this camp. It is funded through a grant to IWASM by the
Alcoa Foundation. However, the selection process will be highly
competitive. The application deadline is April 30, 2008.
